Our client is seeking a Medical Device Product Engineer near Philadelphia, PA!

Our client is dedicated to creating surgeon-designed solutions with minimally disruptive access for the treatment of complex spinal pathology. They use state-of-the-art 3D printing to manufacture their products, allowing an acute sensitivity to patient anatomy. Our client is making quantum leaps in the spinal fusion market. In addition, they have been experiencing extensive growth over the last several years, allowing for potential upward mobility in the company.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Design components or functional systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations
  • Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures
  • Determines budgets and timelines for assigned projects.
  • Lead multifunctional new product project teams through project technical feasibility analysis, initiation, planning, execution, and termination, adhering closely to project timeline and budget
  • Maintain design history file for assigned projects, adhering to company’s design control procedures
  • Provides the regulatory department technical support for assigned projects as needed.
  • Support marketing and product management with technical information to be used for training and marketing of assigned products
  • Support manufacturing to provide processing improvements
  • Support surgeon and distributor customers by training and/or educating on technical aspects of assigned products as needed
  • Determine necessity of testing and initiates testing of assigned products
  • Report progress and status of assigned projects on a timely basis

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • 3+ years relevant experience required
  • Knowledge of the guidelines (FDA/ISO) for developing medical devices is required
  • Understanding of the manufacturing process is (preferred)
  • Project management and communication skills’ training (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of anatomy from an orthopedic standpoint (preferred)
